In April of 2006, the City of Florence Design Review Board approved a new residential development in the Downtown Central Overlay District (D-2) called Coit Village. The proposed development consists of three structures, two of which will contain thirty apartment units each, and the third will serve as a multi-purpose clubhouse. The project will be situated on about two acres along West Darlington and North Coit Streets. Construction will begin as soon as developer and construction plans are finalized.
