As the center for progress and opportunity, Downtown Florence continues to move in the right direction. Great strides are being made to make Downtown the social, economic, and cultural hub of the City. Check back frequently, the FDDC is a volunteer driven community organization, as such we are working diligently to get the information on our website updated.

The August 2010 draft of the City of Florence 2010 Comprehensive Plan is now available online at www.cityofflorence.com which includes the updated Downtown Master Plan. This plan also looks at a handful of exciting projects including a potential Downtown incubator and transit center, that are currently in the works that could have an important bearing on Downtown’s future.

The Florence Downtown Development Corporation (FDDC) invites you to learn about the immense growth and progress occurring in Downtown Florence. Here on our website you will find up to date information on revitalization projects like the FMU Performing Arts Center, Cumberland United Methodist Church, and Coit Village. You will also learn about the Revitalization Strategy, which is the master plan for Downtown revitalization, and Design Guidelines that advise developers and property owners on their renovation projects within the Downtown Redevelopment District.
