Forum Spa Offers Pure Pampering

The News Journal - February 21, 2008

Florentines have a new place to pamper themselves. The Forum Spa at 120 East Elm Street officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Wednesday.

Nestled between the Fitness Forum and the former McClenaghan High School, the spa entrance features an attractive brick facade with three arched windows and a parapet. Soothing colors and soft music offer a warm welcome and expectations of pampering. Original artworks by local artists Peggy Porter and Pollie Bristow complement the elegant interior.

Spa Director Scott Enerson joins the Fitness Forum team after owning and operating his own spa in New Orleans.

With the knowledge and expertise he brings from "Cajun Country," Forum Spa offers custom facials using Dermalogica and Clayton Shagal products, body treatments, waxing and nail services, and the region's only dedicated Couples Massage Room that allows couples to have a therapist per person in the room and/or receive massage instruction from a licensed massage therapist. Various spa packages lasting for hours or all day are available, including those specifically designed for pre-natal care, bridal parties, and mother/daughter days.

The Fitness Forum recently completed major renovations to its facility located at 120 E Elm Street. Renovations kicked off when owner Karen Leatherman purchased the building from Carolinas Hospital in June 2007. Since then, equipment has been upgraded and feature personal viewing screens, new classes have been added to the group fitness schedule, and cardiovascular and strength-training space has increased.

The addition of the Forum Spa adds 2,200 square feet to the facility.
