The annual Oktoberfest in Downtown Florence that was scheduled for this Saturday, October 8th has been rescheduled due to the pending inclement weather.
The new date will be Friday, November 18th from 5:30-10:00 p.m. Ray Reich, Downtown Development Manager for the City of Florence stated, “the chance of being able to hold the event this Saturday as planned seems very slim based on the forecast of heavy rain that will likely effect the Florence area on Saturday as a result of Hurricane Matthew. Because of band availability, the first available date to reschedule is Friday, November 18th. Florence may be the only city in the world to hold Oktoberfest in November!”.
Fritz’s Polka Band from Verona, New York will still be the featured band that will play all of the traditional Oktoberfest music. However, the Pizzazz Band which was scheduled as the second band plaining mainstream contemporary music is not available for the rescheduled date so the second band will be an equally popular band – The Fantastic Shakers.
Reich advises that fans of the Pizazz Band will have an opportunity to see them on April 28, 2017, as they have been booked to play the first Florence After Five of 2017.
